Suzzy Schreuder (nee Barnack)
Chris Hershensohn, Daphne Hugo’s husband, wrote:-
I was trying to trace Suzzy’s husband and came across this gravestone for Suzzy and her husband, Christo Schreuder. It is apparently in the Plumstead Cemetery, in Cape Town. I do not know the whereabouts of their daughter, Elsabe or son Johan, so unless one of the other folk had contact, this is probably all that we know of Suzzy’s story.
We had sporadic contact with them till shortly before Suzzy’s death and then lost contact with Christo. We first visited them in their home to the south of Johannesburg in the early 1970’s and then again some years later in Bethlehem, Free State to where they had moved. From there they moved to Somerset West, and then latterly to Llandudno, which was the last time that we saw them, probably in the early 1990’s. Suzzy was a qualified teacher, and her husband worked for Old Mutual. I wonder whether some of the Cape Town BI graduates might have had contact with them when they were living there?
Blessings,
Chris and Daphne
