ARTHUR TAYLOR served as principal from 1940 to 1945. Taylor was Superintendent of Wynberg Methodist Circuit at the time of the college’s move from Mowbray to Kalk Bay. He began lecturing on a salary of 10 pounds! Continuing on the financial note, about this time the Hostel / Daintree was completed at a cost of 2 600 pounds. The building was used by the Red Cross as a convalescent home during WW 2, and re-opened for college purposes after the war.
